A BG Group company has a non-operating interest in Shearwater Elgin Area Line (SEAL), a 480 km long 34 inch diameter gas export pipeline to Bacton. The pipeline was completed in 2000 for the Elgin/Franklin and Shearwater fields. With capacity of around 1150 mmscfd of NTS-quality dry gas, it has been transporting gas since May 2001.
A BG Group company also has a non-operating interest in the 900 metre long 34 inch diameter SEAL Interconnector Link (SILK) pipeline that provides direct access from SEAL into the UK-Continent Interconnector pipeline.
