A BG Group company operates the Lomond platform on behalf of its co-venturer Hess Limited.
The Lomond field is located 233 km to the east of Aberdeen in block 22/21of the Central North Sea.
The Lomond platform is single steel platform and supports 6 active wells, processing and gas facilities, with accommodation for 41 people. An additional processing module provides processing and transportation services for the ChevronTexaco operated Erskine field which is located 30km to the south.
Separate pipelines transport the Lomond product from the Lomond platform 58km to the Central Area Transmission System (CATS) Riser Platform. The 20 inch gas export pipeline is designated PL780 and the 8 inch condensate export pipeline is designated PL781. From the CATS Riser Platform the gas enters CATS for export to Teesside, and the condensate enters the Forties Pipeline System (FPS).
