A BG Group company operates the Armada platform on behalf of its co-venturers Fina Exploration Ltd, Centrica Resources Limited and Centrica Resources (Armada) Limited.

The Armada platform is located 250 km to the east of Aberdeen in block 22/5 of the Central North Sea and was developed to exploit three gas and condensate fields - Fleming, Drake and Hawkins.

The Armada offshore facility consists of a single platform and two export pipelines. The platform is a four legged steel spaceframe jacket supporting a single integrated deck containing wellhead, process and accommodation facilities. Fire and blastwalls divide the deck into three discrete areas - a central well bay flanked by a production area to the north and a utilities area, which includes the temporary refuge, to the south. Accommodation is provided on the platform for a maximum complement of 60 persons. There are no permanent drilling facilities on the platform.

Gas and condensate are transported via separate pipelines 23km to the Central Area Transmission System (CATS) Riser Platform located adjacent to the North Everest platform in block 22/9. The 20 inch gas export pipeline is designated PL1225 and the 10 inch condensate export pipeline is designated PL1226. At the CATS Riser Platform the gas enters CATS for onward transportation to Teesside and the condensate enters the Everest Liquid System for onward transportation to the Forties Pipeline System.

To date, third party arrangements have been entered into for use of the Armada platform facilities by the Seymour, Maria and Rev fields.
