BG Group announces Board retirement

BG Group has today announced that Sir John Coles, a non-executive director, will be standing down from the Board with effect from 30 September 2008.

BG Group Chairman, Sir Robert Wilson said: "I would like to express the Board's sincerest thanks to Sir John for his support and advice over the past 10 years. He has been on the Board during a period of great change in BG Group and has made an important contribution to the Company's success." 
 
Sir John Coles, 70, joined the Board of BG plc in 1998 and was appointed Chairman of the Corporate Responsibility Committee in 2005. This role will be taken by Dr John Hood who was appointed as a non-executive director on 26 April 2007.
