William Friedrich, Deputy Chief Executive, has submitted his intention to retire from BG Group.  It has been agreed that he will step down from the Board and Group Executive Committee following the Board meeting on 13th December 2007. 

As an Executive Director his contractual notice period is 12 months but, subject to an effective transition of his responsibilities as Deputy CEO, he will be leaving the Group on 31st July 2008.
