BG Group plc confirms that Andrew Bonfield, chief financial officer of SmithKline Beecham plc, will become Executive Director, Finance on 5 January 2001.

Mr. Bonfield was appointed to the BG Group Board as a Non-executive Director in July 2000.

On 14 September 2000, BG Group announced that Mr Bonfield would take up the post of Executive Director, Finance following completion of the SmithKline Beecham/Glaxo Wellcome plc merger.
