What attracted you to BG Group?

BG Group is well known for the ways it treats its employees - not just in terms of the way they’re rewarded, but also from an HSE point. The Group has an excellent attitude towards health and safety issues and the behaviours you see across the business back this up. In all, BG seemed to be a company that I would very much enjoy working with.

What projects have you been involved with?

My first placement was extended - a placement in reservoir engineering and, in that role, one of my key responsibilities was to maintain and update a mathematical model of the sub-surface reservoirs. My second placement was in the production optimisation support team. In this team I was working on a shift basis, supporting the 24-hour, 7 days a week support operations at both our onshore and offshore facilities in Trinidad and Tobago.

What kind of responsibility have you been given?

Right away, I was given a key role in the reservoir engineering team for one of the fields in Trinidad and Tobago. In that role, I was often the representative for the sub-surface team on well testing programmes as well as well intervention as it took place.

What training and development opportunities have you received?

BG has been quite generous and quite understanding of my training and development needs. As well as training in-house I’ve also received quite a lot of training overseas.

What is the BG Group culture like?

I would say that working here at TVP, my colleagues are quite enthusiastic about importance of team work. We generally have weekly meetings where we come together and discuss new technologies within my area.
