There are several stages to the application process – this is to help us to work out if you have the skills and experience we’re looking for, and to enable you to communicate just what you can offer. Before you begin the process, you might also want to look at our hints and tips.
1. Online application
You must complete and submit your application online. If you have any difficulties (technical, medical or otherwise) and need any assistance or adjustments, please email graduate.recruitment@bg-group.com. We can arrange an alternative format such as large print, braille or audiotape - just email us your request. We do not accept CV’s by email rather all candidates must complete and submit an online application.
2. Online tests
If your online application meets our initial selection criteria, for certain disciplines and countries we’ll invite you to take online numerical and verbal reasoning tests.
3. Interview
Perform well in the online testing and, for some functions, we’ll then invite you to a technical face-to-face interview with a functional manager.
4. Selection centre
The next stage is a graduate selection centre. The selection centre is a simulated work experience designed to help you show your natural behaviours and future potential. During the selection centre, you’ll be asked to participate in a number of different exercises, both as a group and individually. These exercises will allow you to demonstrate behavioural competencies in a number of areas including analysis, team-working, personal presentation and planning. You don’t need to do any specific preparation for these events.
5. Offer
Succeed at our selection centre and we’ll make you a formal offer to join our two year graduate programme.
6. Induction
Our international induction, usually held in September, brings together all our new graduate recruits from around the world.
7. Start the graduate programme
Continue to impress us, and you’ll be able to enjoy a wealth of ongoing development opportunities and very rapid career progression.
