Where do you fit in?

My business area drives operational excellence across BG Group’s portfolio through robust strategic themes, technical asset support, driving new technology, setting standards, creating the frameworks for growth and developing the global operations community.

What would I need to do your job?

It can sometimes be testing, influencing other business areas, and these are moments when you need to persevere and know that what you’re trying to do is the right thing. When the business sees that you’re adding real value, it’s worth all the effort.

And the highlights?

I’ve enjoyed setting a clear strategy for the operations function and seeing more people get onboard and start to cascade this through the organisation. Travelling to our global operations and meeting the great people on the frontline of the business delivering hydrocarbons has also been a fantastic experience.

Has BG Group met your expectations?

Absolutely, but I didn‘t expect the level of challenge a rapidly expanding company like this presented. In that sense, it has exceeded my expectations.
