What attracted you to BG Group?
Actually, BG Group is one of the major oil and gas companies in Tunisia, so it's very well known. For that reason, I chose to join BG.
What is your role at BG Group?
My role in engineering is to support operations and production, give them equipment they need and carry out installations. In my previous assignment, I was part of an asset integrity team a chemical engineering team. We were in charge of inspecting and installing equipment, on and offshore – it was very interesting. Here in TVP, we are providing support in terms of production reporting and forecasting, which gives us higher exposure to all assets in the world.
What do you enjoy most about working at BG Group?
When you are a graduate you don't necessarily know exactly what you want to do in your life. On the graduate programme here, you can choose several placements in different areas before you make that decision. For me, that freedom to explore is the best thing you can offer to a graduate.
What is the BG Group culture like?
It's a truly multi-cultural company – there are people from all around the world here and there's a great interaction between them. You can see there are people from everywhere - Oman, Egypt, the UK, Kazakhstan - and it's good to have several nationalities in the same team.
What advice would you give to graduates thinking of joining BG Group?
What makes BG Group such a good choice is that, even with the recession, we are still pushing and still growing. It's a very strong company and a very dynamic company, with new assets and new plants - several in Australia and Brazil – being developed all the time. There are big opportunities here.
