BG Group Cambridge Scholarships

BG Group in collaboration with Cambridge Trusts and the FCO Chevening programme will offer fourteen scholarships at the University of Cambridge for the academic year 2009-10 for one-year postgraduate courses of study.

Eligibility:

To be eligible:

  1. applicants should already hold (or expect to hold by the time of taking up the award) a degree equivalent to a first-class from a UK university

  2. be from Algeria, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, China, Egypt, India, areas of Palestinian Authority, Kazakhstan, Libya, Madagascar, Malaysia, Nigeria, Oman, Philippines, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago or Tunisia. Four of the fourteen scholarships are a seperate partnership between BG Group and Cambridge Trusts, and are restricted as follows: two are for Nigerian nationals only, one is for Egyptian nationals only, one is for Omani nationals only.    

  3. must not be, or be related to, a BG Group employee

Conditions:

Successful applicants must undertake to return to their home country and take up permanent residence there after completing the course at Cambridge

Value of Scholarships:

The scholarships will normally cover up to:

  • the University Composition Fee at the overseas rate

  • approved College fees

  • a maintenance allowance sufficient for a single student

  • a return economy airfare by the cheapest available route

Application:

Suitably qualified candidates must apply for admission to the University of Cambridge by submitting a Graduate Application Form to the Board of Graduate Studies.
