BG Group announces alliance with Queensland Gas Company Limited (QGC) in Australia BG Group entered the Australian oil and gas market with the announcement of an alliance with QGC, a leading producer of coal seam gas in Australia's Surat Basin. Through the alliance, the two companies agreed to co-operate in the exploration and development of onshore coal seam gas acreage as well as in the development of domestic market opportunities. Together, BG Group and QGC will also develop the Queensland Curtis LNG production and export facility on the Queensland coast.

BG Energy Challenge - India held for first time BG India held its inaugural Energy Challenge in Garud Maachi in the Western Ghats. Nineteen teams from across the energy industry participated in a series of mental, physical and strategic challenges over one and a half days and raised a total of 78 000 000 Indian Rupees (£97 500) for two cancer charities.

The acquisitions strengthen BG Group's commitment to exploration in the UK North Sea. By concentrating on key hubs the acquisition increases operational efficiency and enables BG Group to develop satellite fields in the region economically by building on existing infrastructure. |
