Chief Financial Officer and Managing Director, Europe & Central Asia

Ashley Almanza (45) was appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2002 and assumed interim responsibility for the management of the Group's Europe & Central Asia (ECA) region in November 2009. As CFO he is responsible for Group finance, tax, treasury, investor relations, mergers and acquisitions, internal audit and secretariat. He joined the former British Gas plc in 1993 and has since held a number of key management roles with BG Group, including Group Finance Director and Group Financial Controller. A chartered accountant with a MBA from the London Business School, he is currently chairman of The 100 Group, which represents finance directors of the UK’s largest companies.
