Ashley Almanza (45) was appointed Chief Financial Officer in August 2002. He is responsible for Group finance, tax, treasury, investor relations, M&A, internal audit and secretariat. He joined British Gas plc in 1993 and has held a number of key management roles, including Group Finance Director and Group Financial Controller. A chartered accountant, he has worked previously in South Africa and the UK. He is currently Chairman of The 100 Group, which represents finance directors of the UK's largest companies.
